Copy this instruction once, then give your AI the receipt (a photo, a note, or the typed lines). It answers with a CSV you can paste below. The receipt may not say who paid or who shared each item — the instruction leaves those rows for you to fill in.
I am importing expenses into a shared travel ledger. Read the receipt or expense list I give you and reply with ONLY a CSV, no commentary and no code fences.
Use exactly this header row:
topic,payee,payer,amount,currency,notes
What each column means:
- topic: the item name from the receipt, as close to how it is printed as possible (for example "Bun cha", "Water", "Taxi to Hoa Lo"). This is the most important column.
- payee: the person who PAID for that item and is therefore owed the money.
- payer: the person who OWES their share of that item.
- amount: the money that person owes, a positive number, no currency symbol and no thousands separators.
- currency: one of VND, SGD, USD, MYR (use VND for receipts in Vietnam).
- notes: optional, anything that helps us recognise the row.
The group has 13 people. Use these exact names, and no other name:
WW, BJ, NIK, TW, HEN, BRIAN, LT, PB, MAY, MELIA, ANNE, CT, JCY
Rules:
1. One row per person per item. If 4 people share an item, that item becomes 4 rows with the same topic.
2. amount = the item price divided by the number of people who shared it. Round to at most 2 decimals.
3. Never write a row where payee and payer are the same person: the payer's own share is not a debt.
4. Ignore service charges, tips and rounding lines unless I ask you to include them.
5. If the receipt does not show who paid, and I have not told you, put TBD in payee and TBD in payer for those rows, so I can fill them in myself before importing.
6. If the receipt does not show who shared an item, assume every person in the group shared it and divide by 13.
7. Quote any field that contains a comma. Leave notes empty rather than inventing details.
8. Keep the rows in receipt order.
